Chitti muthyalu rice is a short-grain, aromatic rice that means "little pearls."

This rice is mainly used for making pulaos and biryanis. In Tamil, it’s known as jeeraga samba rice, and in Hindi, it’s referred to as jeera rice because of its resemblance to cumin. Chitti muthyalu rice is abundant in potassium, sodium, and fiber. This variety of rice is cultivated in the tribal areas of Telangana (also on SNF Sendriya Farm) and in the southern regions of Kurnool and Tamil Nadu.
